What is Walk and Talk Therapy?
Updated: Jul 20, 2020
Here at The Be Well Collective, we like to do things a little differently by offering you additional services to support your Mental Health that go beyond the traditional therapy room setting.
Walk and Talk Therapy is one of these services we have available. Bringing to you all the benefits of traditional therapy with the added benefits of exercising outdoors!
Regular exercise, even for as little as 15 minutes per day, helps reduce depression, and anxiety, and is a great stress management tool. Our sessions are 40-minutes duration and are offered in numerous locations surrounded by water and nature. Sessions are for all fitness levels and walking is set at a pace you are comfortable with.
Walk and Talk sessions are particularly suited to Individuals experiencing depressed mood, anxiety, stress, loss and grief, and distress from major life transitions. For new Mummas, Walk and Talk Therapy is a great way to safely move your body while taking care of any post-natal difficulties you may be experiencing including birth trauma, anxiety, depression, and parenting challenges.
An initial assessment is required to determine suitability for you prior to booking a session.

We read a great article BY FLORENCE WILLIAMS for The National Geographic sharing how our connection with nature can be nurturing for our brain.
'When we get closer to nature—be it untouched wilderness or a backyard
tree — we do our overstressed brains a favor.'
